Revive Adserver v5.0 released

Revive Adserver v5.0 has been released recently.

This major new release contains several enhancements and improvements. Just to name a few:

• The Geotargeting plugin has been revamped completely, so that it can use the newest GeoIP2 datasets produced by MaxMind. An added benefit is that the plugin will automatically download the required file from the MaxMind server, and keep it up to date over time.
  We are proud to have been a major contributor (both financially and in terms of development resources) for the work involved in this improvement.
• A new feature has been added that enables users to duplicate a website and its zones.

In addition, there are numerous small improvements and bug fixes.

Following the release of this new version on September 30, we’ve created an upgrade plan for all dedicated Revive Adserver instances we host for our customers, and for our Aqua Ad Server system.

After thorough testing on our staging environment, we’ve now completed over 20% of the upgrades on the production platform already. We have been monitoring how our platform and the upgraded installations have been performing, and everything turns out to work according to plan. It is our intention to complete all upgrades by the end of next week. Users will be made aware that the system they work in has been upgraded by a note in the header bar of the ad management console, saying “Now v5.0!” which will link to this blog post.
